Antwerp's thermographic images

While I was in Antwerp I visited a public display put on by the city council of thermographic images (showing the hot areas of the city)which had been taken from a plane flying over the city. This was designed to encourage people to insulate their houses (hot houses in the images being the ones lacking insulation). Council employees were on hand to interpret the images for people (which are also available on the internet), to advise on the practicalities of insulation, and finance available (subsidised for those on low incomes).

This is an excellent way of getting people to insulate their homes, although I can't help thinking that the scheme in Huddersfield, in the north of England, where the council is insulating all homes free of charge, is better.
